Louise B. Neel Dies at 40 years
Louise B. Neel, resident of Sigel Star Route, Brookville, died June 21 at the Brookville Hospital. She was 40 years, 8 months, and 24 days old at the time of her death. She was born in Brookville September 27, 1924, daughter of Jay V. and Sara (Painter) Baughman.
She was married to J. Mead Neel of Brookville, January 5, 1953. A member of Zion Methodist Church she is survived by her husband and parents, and only child: Sally, wife of Larry B. Foulkrod of Brookville, and only grand-child.
The following brothers and sisters also survive: Leo Baughman, Warren; Mary Ellen McManigle, Warren; Jean Burns, Erie; JoAnne Grant, Erie.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, June 23, at 2:00 p.m. at the Donald C. Galbraith Funeral Home. Rev. Gale A Jewell will officiate. Interment will be in the Jefferson Cemetery.
Friends will be received tonight, Monday, after 7:00 p.m. at the Donald C. Galbraith Funeral Home.

Louise's death certificate indicates that she died from a cerebrovascular accident of four hours duration that was contributed to by hypertensive cardiovascular disease of ten years duration. She died at Brookville Hospital under the care of Dr. Oscar McKinley at 7:45 a. m. June 21, 1965.>

In the 1930 United States Federal Census for District 35, Rose Township, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, there is a record of the Jay and Sara (Painter) Baughman family. V. Jay Baughman was the head of family, male, white, age 29 years, married at 20 years of age, reads and writes English, born in Pennsylvania. He was working as a laborer at odd jobs. The family was renting a home, on Maple Avenue Alley, for ten dollars per month. He said he was not a veteran. Both his parents were born in Pennsylvania. Sara E. Baughman was Jay's wife, female, white, age 27 years, married at age 19, reads and writes English, born in Pennsylvania. Sara was not working outside the home. Both her parents were born in Pennsylvania. Jean M. Baughman, was Jay’s daughter, female, white, age seven years, single, attended school, born in Pennsylvania. Louise F. Baughman, daughter, female, white age five years, single, born in Pennsylvania. Leo D. Baughman, is Jay’s son, male, white, age three years and zero months (born abt 1927), single, born in Pennsylvania. Mary E. Baughman, daughter, female, white, one year and eight months, single, born in Pennsylvania. Joan Baughman, daughter, female, white, four months of age, single, born in Pennsylvania.
Warner Brothers Kidde Club
Approximately 250 children joined the Columbia Chapter of the Warner Brothers Kidde Club organized 21 Mar 1931 for children four to twelve years of age. There will be physical activities, birthday parties, picnics, as well as educational objects of the club. Members of the club were asked to "so conduct themselves so that they will grow to be useful members of society and worthwhile citizens of the community. Officers are to be elected or named from the membership including a president, vice president, sergeant-at-arms and secretary. Jean M. Baughman was Jay’s daughter, female, white, age seventeen years, single, completed 4-3 grade, born in Pennsylvania. Louise F. Baughman, daughter, female, white age fifteen years, single, completed seventh grade, born in Pennsylvania. Leo D. Louise Riggs, a 24-year-old white female, was born around 1926 in Pennsylvania. In 1950, she resided in Brookville, Jefferson, Pennsylvania, USA, specifically at 98 Euclid Ave. Louise was divorced and lived with her mother, Sara Baughman, who was 47 years old at the time. Also residing in the household were Louise's younger sister, Mary Ellen Baughman, aged 21, who was employed as a mounter of electric tubes for Sylvania. Also in the houshold was Louise's daughter, Sally Riggs, who was 7 years old. Both Sara and Louise's occupation category was listed as "Keeping House," indicating their role in managing the household. Neither Sara or Louise worked the previous week and they were not actively seeking employment. The household consisted of four members in total.

NEEL-BAUGHMAN
Mr. and Mrs. Jay Baughman, Euclid avenue, announce the marriage of their daughter, Louise, to Mr. Meade Neel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jelbert Neel, of Tucson, Ariz. The double ring ceremony was solemnized by the Rev. Frank Lee Roberts, on Monday, January fifth, in the Methodist church at Tucson at three o'clock in the afternoon.
For her wedding the bride wore a light blue dress and pink accessories , and a corsage of pink carnations.
Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Jelbert Neel, parents of the groom. Mrs. Neel chose a navy blue dress accented by red accessories and a corsage of red carnations.
The new Mrs. Neel attended the Brookville schools and was recently employed by the G. C. Murphy Company.
Mr. Neel is employed by L. A. Leathers Company.
The couple are now at home at 98 Euclid avenue, Brookville.
